An artsy, crafty place for Montrealers

Does anybody know where I can get a styrofoam head (or basically, any head-size and shape thing of any material)

I don't really care about the condition, I just need it to make a mask on (basically, use as a dummy). I'd rather not pay a lot for it, either.

Hey, I have two usual questions.

1. I am looking for an alternative to Omer Dessers for paintbrushed and canvases. Could you recomand me any stores?

2. I am trying to find info about galleries events, but I seem not to be able to get anything on the internet, any recommendations?

...dead? [Sep. 22nd, 2008|11:07 am]
An artsy, crafty place for Montrealers

I'm hoping someone on this community can help me out.

I'm trying to find 2 part epoxy reisin (one part resin, one part hardener) but I'm not sure where to look. I'd also like to find molds made specifically for resin. Does Montreal have places that sell this stuff, or am I going to have to order resin online?

Also, does Montreal have a canadian equivalent of a Michaels (it's this huge store in the US that ONLY sells craft supplies)? If so, where is it? I'm willing to travel anywhere as long as the place is great.

I'm probably x-posting to the montreal community.

Old toys? [Feb. 19th, 2008|06:30 pm]
An artsy, crafty place for Montrealers

I need, for a school project, random pieces of junk that will be used in a scale model of a junkyard. I'm looking for small dolls and toys, and small to medium sized toy cars. The older and rustier the better ;)
No payment is offered, but I will come to get your old junk!
Please leave me a message here or contact me at montrealchick at gmail.com

I'm looking for two sets of tools for fine sculpting, and Omer Deserres doesn't seem to carry many options.
I can order online, but I'd much rather buy locally/see what I'm buying before ordering.

The first is a set of rubber shapers, like those pictured here.
They're like paintbrushes but with rubbery ends in various shapes for modelling and smoothing.

Also, I want a set of dental tools for tiny sculpting.
They usually come in packs,a nd I have NO idea where to go for them.

Thanks guys!

I had quite a few requests for this guy a while back, but I wasn't ready to part with him, however I need some money right now and figured I'd post him in case anyone was still interested...
